23. November, 2001 - how was your turkey?
- 13 percent of turkeys are bad. Full of sam & ella. That's good eatin'.
- Today is Buy Nothing Day. Personally, I cut way down on my shopping in
various stores as they put up the Christmas decorations (starting well
before Halloween in some cases). Once the decorations go up, I only shop
there only if I have to because it's the only store carrying the item I need.
I'm happy to shop somewhere that costs more that doesn't slap me in the
face with Christmas decorations in October.
- Mastercard baseball tour ripped off from real fans. Fargin bastages.
- Michael Fraase is having More fun with spammers. And I can finally read the
article, because the slashdot effect seems to have worn off. Personally, I just
route most of the spam through SpamCop, but he seems to have more energy
than I do.
- Is there a Fannish Accent among folks who attend cons? Sure looks like it,
especially to a mundane speech therapist.
- A Suburban D. C. County outlaws smoking in your own home, if the smoke
wafts across a property line. Okay, that makes a kind of sense, but how about
we do the same enforcement on cars, buses, leaf-blowers, power plants,
flatulent people, and Congress-critters. Or have I repeated myself?
